Will De La Cruz names England's new head coach: Sheffield Bulldogs

Sheffield Lady Bulldogs (UK) hired WWill De La Cruz as its new head coach. The contract is for the 2019 Liga Mediterranean Cup with an option for the 2020 season. De La Cruz, 37, brings with him seven years of FIBA International coaching experience with clubs from Europe, Asia and South America. He spent the 2019 season as the GIE Maile Matrix (UBA) head coach. De La Cruz is also a former high level professional basketball player in the Dominican Republic.

"This will be a great challenge for me", said De La Cruz. Its alot of fun to be around the players. Of course winning is the goal but the most important thing to me is getting these players to the next level.

De La Cruz graduated from Point University in 2006. He finished his career with a 17 point per game average. De La Cruz was also named Honorable Mention All-American 2005 & 2006 season. After collage De La Cruz attended NBA mini camp with the Houston Rockets. He would later played the next five years in three countries (China, Dominican Republic, Taiwan).

The 2019 Liga Mediterranean Cup will take place in Toulouse, France May 30- June 3.
