United Cup of Champions Sets 6-Team Field for Season 12: Santiago, Dominican Republic

SANTIAGO, Dominican Republic ABASACA's regional office in Santiago, working alongside the Trinity United, LLC Board, has officially confirmed the six clubs that will compete in Season 12 of the United Cup of Champions, with the international club competition set to return to Santiago in January 2027.

The six-team field features clubs from the Dominican Republic and United States, divided into two groups.

Group A will feature Gregorio Urbano Gilbert (GUG), CPN Pueblo Nuevo and the Central Florida Snipers of the American Basketball Association (ABA).

Group B will include the GIE Cibao Immortals of the LDC, Cupes de los Pepines and the Mesa Monsoons of The Basketball League (TBL).

The clubs learned their group assignments during the official draw last week, and the complete schedule for the January 5-8 competition has now been released.

The Season 12 champion will also earn the right to represent the United Cup of Champions at the 2027 USBasket Champions League, adding an international opportunity for this year's field.

The Georgia Panthers enter the year as the reigning United Cup champions after capturing the 2025-26 title. The Panthers will not return to defend their championship in 2027, guaranteeing that a new champion will be crowned in Santiago. United Cup Finals MVP Victor Torres (189-SG-1997) will return for the Immortals.

The United Cup of Champions will take place January 5-8, 2027, in Santiago, Dominican Republic.
