CMC2020: Santiago Basket ink Ameth Gil

Santiago Basket (Mitchell Cup) strengthened their roster with addition of experienced 34-year old swingman Ameth Gil (191-84). It is actually his comeback to Santiago as he has played here before. Gil played last summer at Pueblo Nuevo in Santiago League in Dominican Republic. In 10 games he recorded 9.4ppg, 4.7rpg, 2.4apg and 1.5spg. Gil also played for Santiago Basket that season where in four Mitchell Cup games he was second best scorer with impressive 23.3ppg and had 6.0rpg, 1.7apg and 1.3spg. He was also voted Latinbasket.com All-Mitchell Americas Cup Honorable Mention in 2019.

The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Gil played in the final of Dominican Rep. Santiago League in 2018.

Gil has spent his entire career in Dominican Republic playing for two other teams: Capitanes and Metros de Santiago.

It's very possible he may end his playing career at Santiago Basket.
