MSP B. Lowen - MCC Toronto B 62-65
Toronto topped the hosting MSP B. Lowen in Group A opener. Faatimah Amen-Ra (163-G-91, college: Ryerson) produced 27 points to lead the Canadian team. MSP accumulated a 46:37 halftime lead. Toronto came back to life in the second half. They pulled within 5 after shooting 22 free-throws in the second half. The Canadan powerhouse dropped 24 points in the fourth period to rally and win their first game. Tatyanna Pogonza-Dumas had 12 points in the win. Kristina King (180-G/F-92, college: Richmond) was dominant in the opening round scoring a team best 22 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists in a losing effort. Mia Hopkins  (178-G, college: MCC Toronto) also added 20 points and 9 rebounds.

Santiago Basket - Atlanta Ambassadors 85-89
Atlanta overcame Santiago Basket to open Copa Mitchell Cup campaign. Carrie Washington (183-F/C-94, college: Columbus St.) was dominate on the glass with 15 rebounds (13 points) to pace the American team. They grabbed a 37:33 halftime lead. Santiago narrowed the gap in the second half but came up short of win at the end. Lexie Nelson (168-G, college: EWU) added 23 points and 3 rebounds for the winners. Adella Randle-El (173-G, college: Sacramento St., agency: Gamble Sports Management) answered with 23 points for Santiago.
