2022 United Cup: Immortals overpower Bulldogs to claim Superior Championship

GIE Cibao Immortals celebrated their second ever United Cup Gold. They beat Sheffield Bulldogs in the Final in Santiago tonight to claim the title. Oliver Garcia provided 22 points and 4 rebounds to lead the champions.
Immortals opened the game on a 14:2 run. But Bulldogs found their answer in Ken Lewis as he scored 8 consecutive points to keep Bulldogs close. Immortals however finished the quarter on a strong rally to take a 23:14 lead after ten minutes. Immortals quickly ballooned the lead to as many as 14 points in the second period. Clav Brown came up big for the Immortals with 22 points and 6 rebounds. But Immortals stayed confident restoring a double-digit lead and finishing the first half up by 12 points 43:31. GIE started to overwhelm the Bulldogs in the third quarter. Amet Gil completed three-point play to give the Immortals a massive 22-point lead 55:33.

The Immortals won the game 79-66 to claim their second United Cup title.  Oliver Garcia was named Finals MVP.
